Luo, a Chinese born-American composer and a visual artist who lives in her own dreams by following her eccentric and unique destiny. Luo's music has been performed in major concert halls such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Miller Hall, City Hall, Greenwich Village, Symphony Hall, Davis Hall in San Francisco, and many major concert hall in the nation and internationally. Luo's music has been on INNOVA, New World Records, CRI, Innocent Eyes & Lenses and many other private music production labels.
Luo's major honors and awards include a Koussevitzky commission, Three times of Artist fellowships from the Rockefeller Foundation, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Jerome Foundation, the Samuel Rosen Foundation, two individual Artist grant from the New York State Council on the Arts, five times of Individual Artist fellowship recipient from the Ohio Arts Council, five times of artist fellowship recipient from MacDowell Artist Colony, twice Yaddo Colony fellowship. The winner of composition competition from the China National Symphonic Composition competition, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the Central Philharmonic, the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Chamber symphony, the Fenny Mendelssohn International Women composers competition, the Dale Warland Singers and many others. Luo's music have participated in music festivals in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Finland, Japan, Singapore, IIsrael, Mexico and many other countries.
Luo has taught Composition as a Visiting Professor at Oberlin College of Conservatory of Music, Ashland University, Nazareth College of Rochester, and was a guest lecturer invited by Stanford University, University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Wesleyan University, West Michigan University, University of Las Vagas, central conservatory of Music and Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
Luo's visual art works are chosen to be exhibited at the International Art Expo of Cleveland, the Beck Center for the Arts in Lakewood, Ohio, the Cleveland Public Library, FAVA Art gallery, Gingko Art gallery, Mansfield Art Center, the Courbin Art gallery and many private homes world wide.
Luo currently lives in Oberlin, Ohio, USA
